At Victory in the City, we continue to be deeply grateful for your continued generous support, whether through volunteering your time, giving financially, or faithfully investing in prayer. We hope that as you welcome springtime, it is a time full of connection with others, renewal, and making memories with your loved ones! Here at Victory, we have been blessed with times of connection, renewal, and lasting memories for our youth!
Alpha Youth
Our Monday night Alpha youth group session culminated in a wonderful camp getaway. Students had the opportunity to connect with leaders and one another while enjoying a variety of games and activities, great food, and most importantly, a time of renewal of their faith. For some, it was a deepening of their faith, and for others, a meaningful step into a new relationship with Jesus.
One student shared, “I love Alpha because I could gather with other people, explore more about God, and hear what others have to say.” Another said, “I love Alpha because we come together as a family and learn about God.”
Through the Alpha experience, students are invited to attend our Sunday youth group and church service, serve with Operation Hands and Feet, and engage in meaningful activities within our community. On Sunday mornings, over half of our congregation is made up of youth. We thank God for bringing us young people who are passionate about God’s Kingdom. Through service, we have seen students grow into leaders who are making an impact in their community.
Special Events
Recently, our youth group stuffed over 2,000 eggs for our annual Easter celebration. Students worked diligently to help ensure every child experiences a fun and memorable time so that ultimately they will come to know Jesus.

We also had the opportunity to host a bingo day at the local nursing home. One resident shared with us, “You are such a blessing to us. I love hearing young people get excited and watch them smile.” Another resident shared, “I hope you come back soon. This was the best day I had in a long time.” When a leader asked the students if they had fun they all shouted “Yes!”

We loved witnessing the unity between young and old; a beautiful reflection of what is often only found in God’s Kingdom!
Students have also had the opportunity to engage in their own personal interests and discover new ones. Recently, students had the opportunity to attend family night at the Pacers game as well as express their creativity through making beats with a local artist. We are passionate about encouraging students to pursue their interests and invite them to actively participate in community.
In February, we had the blessing of partnering with a church in Illinois, and our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students were able to attend CIY. Students learned how to discover God’s truth and how to share it with others. They were challenged to identify one person in their life to share God’s truth with.
One young girl shared, “I am passionate to share God’s truth with my father.” What a beautiful opportunity for our students to share God’s love within their own families.
CLUB
Through discipleship of our youth, we are seeing our youth grow into community leaders who are making a powerful and positive impact in their community.
We have seen our teenagers continue to build powerful, transformative relationships across our city as we welcome other urban churches to our Club Nights on the fourth Thursday of each month. Recently, we shared a spoken word piece centered on choosing life over death, addressing the difficult reality of suicide.
This powerful film was created by one of our core leaders, with many members of our church participating as actors. That evening, students were able to share a vital message with each other. Even when they don’t feel it, they matter. Jesus welcomes each of us into His family.
VCity Food Pantry
Our food pantry continues to bless countless families on the near westside and serves as a gateway for more families to attend our church. We consistently hear a resounding “THANK YOU” as many experience radical love through this ministry.
We serve over forty families weekly, and over ninety families monthly through our parking lot pantry. Through our partnerships with local organizations, we have been able to serve over 4,500 lbs of food in our community. We continue to meet both physical and spiritual hunger in our community.

Through your support, we can continue creating spaces where youth are empowered through transformative relationships, equipped with valuable skills, and engaged as leaders who inspire positive change in their communities.
Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of our city’s urban youth.
